Tarvo Laakso was a Finnish musician and Evangelical Lutheran priest born on December 15, 1955, in Tampere, Finland. He served as a parish pastor in Tampere and was known for his musical background, earning him the nickname 'rock priest'. One of his most recognized songs, 'Krusifiksin juurella', was popular among many generations at confirmation camps. In September 2006, he published an autobiography titled 'Rokkipappi krusifiksin juurella'. Laakso also ran the 'Lietsun Gospel Church' at the Lielahden Church in Tampere for several years, showcasing gospel musicians and supportive rock artists.
