Tatsuhide Matsuoka (born 1944) is a Japanese nature picture book author. He travels extensively for nature observation across Japan, Central and South America, Alaska, Oceania, and Southeast Asia, illustrating many natural science picture books. His notable works include titles like 'The Amazing Nature Series' and 'Tropical Exploration Illustrated Book,' receiving several awards. Matsuoka established an atelier in Niigata Prefecture in 2000. After experiencing the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake in 2004 and publishing 'Shindo 7' based on this experience, he continued his creative activities and opened a gallery in 2007.
