Ted Atkatz is an accomplished musician, known as the founder and frontman of the alternative rock band NYCO, based in Los Angeles. Previously, he served as the principal percussionist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra until 2006. Atkatz, who grew up in Queens, New York, pursued an education in percussion and music at various prestigious institutions, including Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music. He currently teaches as the Director of Percussion Studies at California State University at Long Beach, while also fulfilling roles at other music conservatories.
