Terry A. Davis (December 15, 1969 - August 11, 2018) was an American programmer known for creating and designing TempleOS, a public domain operating system noted for its extreme difficulty to develop. Davis learned Assembly language as a teenager and had a master's degree in electrical engineering. He faced challenges including bipolar disorder and later schizophrenia. After claiming a divine revelation, he devoted a decade to building TempleOS, which was ultimately seen as a hobbyist project. He gained a following online but struggled with communication due to his mental health issues. Davis died at 48 after being struck by a train.
