Terry Place-Brandel, now known as Terry Schättler, is a retired German-American volleyball player born on September 15, 1957, in Hawthorne, California. She played in 289 international matches for the United States and achieved fifth place at the 1978 World Championship. After marrying Christian Brandel, the press spokesperson for the German Volleyball Federation, she became a German citizen and competed in 312 matches for Germany, participating in the 1984 Olympics. A six-time German champion, she is currently a physiotherapist in Munich and won the Over-50 World Championship with the U.S. national team in 2015.
