Teruji Kogake was a Japanese triple jumper born on December 18, 1932, in Jōge, Hiroshima Prefecture. He achieved eighth place in the triple jump at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and was a four-time consecutive Japanese champion from 1954 to 1957. Kogake set his personal best jump of 16.48 m on October 7, 1956, in Sendai. Later in his career, he became the head coach of the Japan Athletics Federation and served as vice president of the federation and the Japanese Olympic Committee from 1995 to 2005 and 1999 to 2003, respectively.
