While he was occasionally referred to as 'Hoshino Tetsurō,' the correct spelling is 'Tetsurō.' He had multiple pen names including Megumu Arita and Asami Ari. Hoshino was originally from Morino Village in Yamaguchi Prefecture and later lived in Koganei, Tokyo. He had a son and a daughter with his wife, who passed away in 1994.
