Tetsuta Iwasaki (February 11, 1905 - November 9, 1980) was a prominent Japanese publisher, founder of Iwasaki Shoten, and the first president of the Japan Children's Book Publishers Association. He was born as Otomi Iwasaki and graduated from Waseda University's political economy department. After opening a bookstore in 1932, he became involved in the publication of works critical of the government. Following his post-war resurgence, he focused on children's literature, gaining prominence in publishing before dying in 1980. The Iwasaki Tetsuta Prize was established in his honor in 1982.
