Thamir Ghadhban is an Iraqi politician born in 1945. He served as the Minister of Oil in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi. With a career in the Ministry of Oil since 1973, he was arrested in 1992 during Saddam Hussein's regime. He held the position of Minister of Oil in Iyad Allawi's government and was a member of the committee that drafted the Iraqi constitution. Additionally, he served in the Transitional National Assembly, was chair of the economic committee, and was nominated for the Secretary General of OPEC in 2012.
