Thanasis Apostolou is a Greek-Dutch theologian and politician born on October 24, 1946, in Trygona-Trikala, Greece. He moved to the Netherlands in 1971, studying theology in both Athens and Amsterdam. He served as the director of the Foundation for Foreign Workers in Central Netherlands from 1978 to 1989 and was a member of the Dutch Parliament for the Labour Party from 1989 to 2002. Apostolou is known for his opposition to same-sex marriage, euthanasia legislation, and the Netherlands' involvement in the Kosovo war. He is also active in international drug policy.
