Thax Douglas, born October 31, 1957, is an American poet based in Madison, Wisconsin. Initially part of the Chicago music scene, he performed poetry inspired by live performances. Douglas, known for his tall stature and distinctive long white beard, has experimented with various poetic styles, including confessional poetry and poetry-portraits. After relocating several times, he was diagnosed as autistic in Wisconsin. A documentary titled 'THAX' was made about him in 2007. His poem inspired the name of The Posies' 2010 album, Blood/Candy.
