Theodoor Herman de Meester was a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Born on June 26, 1926, in Buitenzorg, he initially served in the Royal Navy before becoming a mayor. His political career included mayoral positions in Westkapelle, Markelo, and Zierikzee, where he served until his early retirement in 1986. He passed away on December 2, 2019, at the age of 93. De Meester was the son of Jan Balthazar de Meester, a prominent naval officer during the colonial period.
