Theodore Ryder, also known as Ted Ryder, was a notable individual in the history of diabetes treatment. Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of five, he was among the first twelve patients worldwide treated with insulin after its rediscovery. Ryder lived with diabetes for 70 years, making him one of the longest recorded cases of sustained insulin treatment. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 76 and was the last surviving individual from the original twelve insulin-treated diabetes patients.
