Thomas Andrews Drake (born April 22, 1957) is a former U.S. military officer and whistleblower. He served in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy and was once a senior official at the National Security Agency (NSA). In 2010, the U.S. government charged him with misusing classified documents and leaking information about the NSA's Trailblazer project, which involved extensive data collection. He faced severe charges under the Espionage Act but was ultimately convicted of a minor charge and lost his position at the NSA. He received the Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling in 2011.
