Arabo served as technical and managing director at Strandfaraskip Landsins until 1996 and held positions as a minister in various capacities from 1991 to 1994. He was actively involved in Lagtinget from 1984 to 1994 and chaired its finance committee. He also taught at local schools and is married, residing in Oyrareingir by Kollafjørður.
