Thomas D. Davies was a U.S. Navy rear admiral born on November 3, 1914, in Cleveland, Ohio, and passed away on January 21, 1991, in Saint Martin, Caribbean Sea. He served as a naval aviator and was an expert in navigation and astronomical navigation. He played a key role in the development of the Lockheed P-2 Neptune reconnaissance aircraft and set a distance world record in 1946 flying from Perth, Australia, to Columbus, Ohio. Later, he was the deputy director of the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and founded a navigation foundation.
