Thomas F. Stocker, born in 1959 in Zurich, is a Swiss climatologist. He received a degree in physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and has conducted research at University College London, McGill University in Montreal, and Columbia University in New York. Since 1993, he has been a professor and head of the Department of Climate and Environmental Physics at the University of Bern. His work focuses on climate change modeling, and he significantly contributed to the development of the Hockey Stick graph, which illustrates rising global temperatures.
