Thomas Francis Carney (born February 7, 1931) is a British-Canadian ancient historian and communication scholar. He grew up in Britain and studied history at several universities before teaching at Victoria College in Wellington. He then moved to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and later to the University of Manitoba in Canada, where he shifted his focus to systematic topics in communication. He held academic positions at various institutions and received recognition for his contributions to university teaching.
