Thomas Ashworth Goss was an Anglican priest born on July 27, 1912. He was educated at Shardlow Hall, Aldenham, and the University of St Andrews. Ordained in 1938, he started his career with a curacy at Frodingham and became a chaplain in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. A Japanese prisoner of war from 1942 to 1945, he later served as vicar of Sutton Le Marsh until 1951, returned to the RAF until 1967, and was Dean of Jersey from 1971 to 1985. He passed away on December 10, 1997.
