Thomas Joseph Flynn is a retired major general in the United States Army, born on November 2, 1930. He served in significant roles including Deputy Commander of the Army Intelligence and Security Command and Assistant Deputy Director for Operations at the NSA. Flynn began his military career by enlisting in the Army in October 1952, following his graduation with a B.A. in biology from the University of Toronto. He was commissioned in 1954 and is also a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the Air War College.
