Thomas Gresham Kirby-Green was a British Royal Air Force officer and pilot of a Vickers Wellington bomber. During World War II, he was captured and held as a prisoner. He participated in the famous 'Great Escape' from Stalag Luft III in March 1944. However, he was recaptured in the aftermath of the escape attempt and was executed by the Gestapo. His gallant efforts during the war made him a notable figure in the history of the RAF.
