Thorbjørn Lie was a Norwegian businessperson and politician associated with the Progress Party. He was born on December 17, 1943, in Lardal and later moved to Førde. In 1987, he founded a helicopter company named Airlift, where he served as CEO. Additionally, he was co-owner and chairman of Helilift. He entered politics as a member of the Sogndal municipal council in 2003 and served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Sogn og Fjordane from 2005 until his death in 2006.
