Her most notable achievement includes winning the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she surpassed competitors like Croatia's Blanka Vlašić and Russia's Anna Chicherova. Additionally, she won the gold medal at the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Valencia, with a personal best height of 2.05 m, a Belgian national record.
