Timur Dosymbetov is a distinguished athlete from Kazakhstan, born on July 17, 1957, in Almaty. He is recognized as a Honored Master of Sports of the USSR in modern pentathlon (1982) and was a world champion in team events (1982, Rome, Italy). Additionally, he won the USSR Cup three times between 1978 and 1980 in Kyiv, Moscow, and Yerevan. Dosymbetov served as the first president of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan in 1990 and later became the president of the Kazakhstan Pentathlon Federation and a member of the technical committee of the International Pentathlon Federation.
