Gregorio Manuel Fernández Vargas, known as Tío Borrico, was a prominent Spanish flamenco singer born on April 3, 1910, in Jerez de la Frontera. He belonged to the gypsy dynasty of Paco La Luz. Notable for his distinctive rough and hoarse voice, he gained wider recognition later in life by participating in various festivals. Despite facing great poverty in his final years, he continued to perform regularly. His daughter, Maria la Burra, emerged as an excellent successor to his flamenco singing style.
