Thomas Fitzgerald was an Irish politician from Fianna Fáil, born on March 25, 1939, in Lispole. He served 13 years in Seanad Éireann and was initially a fisherman in Dingle. Fitzgerald was active in local politics, serving on Kerry County Council from 1979 to 1985. He faced initial electoral defeats but was elected multiple times to the Seanad by the Agricultural Panel. He supported Charles Haughey and served as the Government's Chief Whip but resigned in 2002 due to ill health. Fitzgerald passed away on June 7, 2013.
