Captain Sir Thomas Moore, known as Captain Tom, was a British Army officer celebrated for his charity fundraising during the COVID-19 pandemic leading up to his 100th birthday. Serving in India during World War II, he became involved in the Burma Campaign. After the war, he worked as a managing director of a concrete company and was an avid motorbike racer. At 99, he raised over £32 million for NHS Charities Together through his walking challenge, gaining widespread recognition and being knighted by the Queen on 17 July 2020.
