He initially played cello but soon transitioned to drums, performing with notable musicians such as Jimmy McGriff, Kenny Burrell, and Pharoah Sanders. In the 1970s, he moved to New York, collaborating with George Coleman and others before relocating to Europe. He was involved with various groups, including Mombasa and participated in famous jazz festivals, such as Montreux. Later, he worked with Black & White Cooperation and provided workshops and private lessons.
