Tom Parry Jones (1935-2013) was a British scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur from Wales, known for developing the first portable breathalyzer. He was awarded the Queen's Award for Technological Achievement in 1980 for this invention. Born and raised in Anglesey, he studied at Bangor University before pursuing a PhD at the University of Alberta, Canada. Later, he founded the Tom Parry Jones Trust at Bangor University in 2002. Following the sale of Lion Laboratories in 2005, he established PBM Technology and Welsh Dragon Aviation.
