Tom Phaddy Mac Diarmada was a renowned storyteller and performer from Lochán Beag in Indreabhán, living in Dublin during a revival of the Oireachtas in 1939. He participated in nearly every event and received 19 storytelling awards over the years. He served as a custodian at the Dun Sinche Theatre in Dublin from 1950 to 1974. In 1948, he married Nan Seoighe, and they raised four children fluent in Irish. They returned to Lochán Beag in 1974 after his retirement. He passed away in 2001 and is buried at Reilig an Chnoic.
