He is the leader of the political party 'European Security and Integration' (formerly 'Roma') and served as a deputy in the XXXIX and XL National Assemblies as part of the 'Coalition for Bulgaria'. Tomov identifies himself as part of the marginalized Roma ethnic group and aligns with leftist political ideals. He graduated in law from Sofia University 'St. Kliment Ohridski' in 1987 and became a district prosecutor in Oryahovo the same year.
