Tomáš Etzler is a former Czech journalist born on April 1, 1963, in Ostrava. He served as a permanent correspondent for Czech Television in China from 2007 to 2010, and then worked from Hong Kong from 2010 to 2014. Notably, he is the first Czech to receive an Emmy Award, which he earned as a member of the CNN production team for testing satellite data transmission. He is the older brother of actor Miroslav Etzler.
