Tomáš Poláček is a Czech journalist and traveler born on December 21, 1977, in Prostějov. He began contributing to Mladá fronta DNES in 2000, leaving in 2014 after 14 years. He also writes for Reportér magazine. In 2008, he hitchhiked to the Olympics in Beijing, followed by a significant journey from the Czech Republic through Siberia to North America and down to Tierra del Fuego in 2015, documenting it in his book STOP: Světové tažení ochmelky Poláčka. He published a book interview with jazz trumpeter Laco Déczi in 2017 and continues to create content, including a podcast since 2019.
