Tomotarō Nakamura is a Japanese scholar of Christian studies and an emeritus professor at Sophia University. He graduated in 1961 from the University of Tokyo with a degree in German literature. He later pursued further academic work but left the doctoral program in comparative literature and cultural studies. Throughout his career, he served in various academic positions, including lecturer and associate professor at Toyo University, and later as an associate professor and professor at Sophia University until his retirement in 2008.
