Tone Vogrinec is a Slovenian engineer, politician, and ski functionary born on February 24, 1942, in Maribor. He began his sports career as a handball player before transitioning to skiing, representing Slovenia for nearly a decade. After a skiing injury in 1969, he became a coach, leading the women's national team and men's national team, serving until 2006. He held various roles within the Ski Association, including Vice President and was a city councilor in Maribor. He co-founded the political organization Forum 21 in 2004.
