Anthony Shannon Harman (1912-1999) was an English farmer and author renowned for his book 'Seventy Summers', which recounted his life and farming history, becoming a bestseller and inspiring a BBC series. He studied agriculture at Cambridge and began farming Grove Farm in 1931. Later, he wrote about modern farming practices, the Charolais cattle breed, and contributed to The Guardian. He also engaged in public service as a magistrate and was a Labour Party candidate. Harman passed away at the age of 87 in 1999.
