Watson Research Center from 1983 to 1995 and has held professorships at Columbia University and Stanford University. He is known for his contributions to ultrafast laser spectroscopy and the study of two-dimensional materials. He has received several prestigious awards and honors, including fellowship in the American Physical Society.
