Tony Kuepfer, born in 1947 in Portland, Oregon, is an accomplished American-New Zealand glass artist. He studied at Portland State University before relocating to Inglewood, Taranaki, New Zealand in 1974. Alongside his wife, he converted an old church into a studio and showroom for creating glass art. Kuepfer significantly contributed to the New Zealand glass art scene and offered many locals their first exposure to studio glass. His works are housed in prestigious institutions, including the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
