He is best known for his role as Jim 'Jock' McClaren in the 1970s television series Porridge, and he also appeared in its sequel, Going Straight. Osoba has made guest appearances in several other notable television series, including Dempsey & Makepeace, Coronation Street, The Professionals, The Flame Trees of Thika, Between the Lines, and Dinotopia. Additionally, he has participated in two episodes of Doctor Who. He has Nigerian ancestry and two sisters.
