Tor Gudmund Selvær, born on February 19, 1948, in Sandnessjøen, is a notable vocalist of the Ryfylke Visegruppe. He moved to Vassøy at the age of two, started his music journey with Jåtten school music corps, and later joined Stavanger domkor. Selvær was part of a pop group called Islanders until 1969. He established a glass company in 1977 and taught at Bergeland secondary school until retirement. He co-published an art book and received a cultural award from Strand municipality in 1982 for contributions to local culture.
