Tor Myklebost was a Norwegian journalist, diplomat, and ambassador born on December 10, 1913, in Romedal, and died on September 20, 1968. He began his studies in 1932, completing the first part of the cand.jur. degree in 1936 while also working as a journalist. He joined the foreign service in 1940 and studied at the American University in California from 1943 to 1945. He attended the NATO Defence College during 1961-1962 and was awarded the St. Olavs Orden in 1967.
