Tore Albert Simonsen (1939-1968) was a Norwegian biologist and zoologist who specialized in the nutritional ecology of beavers and social organization among corvids. Educated in Bergen, he pursued a doctorate under well-known French biologist Professor Remy Chauvin at the University of Strasbourg. He was the first chairperson of the Norwegian Zoological Society's southern division, established in 1964, and initiated the transformation of Kristiansand Museum into Agder Nature Museum. Simonsen also contributed a column in Fædrelandsvennen that showcased museum collections innovatively.
