Torger Tokle was a Norwegian-born American ski jumper and military officer, born on March 7, 1919. He had a successful six-year ski jumping career, winning 42 of 48 tournaments and setting 24 hill records. Unfortunately, he died in action during the battle of Riva Ridge in Italy on March 3, 1945. His remarkable contributions to ski jumping were recognized posthumously when he was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 1959.
