Hallstein Tormod Høgåsen is a Norwegian theoretical physicist born on August 21, 1937, in Nord-Fron. He grew up in Vågå and completed his secondary education at Vinstra Upper Secondary School in 1955. Høgåsen earned his cand.real. degree from the University of Oslo in 1960 and his dr.techn. degree from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1964. He became a docent at the University of Oslo in 1969 and a professor of theoretical physics in 1984. His research primarily focuses on elementary particle physics, and he has worked with various prestigious institutions globally.
