Torsten Görlitzer, born on January 9, 1964, in Marienberg, is a former German luger and currently serves as the national luge coach. He was part of the SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal and was competitive in East German luge during the late 1980s. Despite competing with top athletes like Norbert Loch and Wilfried Vogel, Görlitzer won a national bronze medal in 1986. He qualified for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, achieving a strong second place in the first run and the best time in the second, but ultimately finished fifth overall. He is married to former luger Anke Wischnewski.
