Toshiaki Takegoshi was a renowned Japanese ceramic artist, member of the Japan Art Academy, and professor emeritus at Kanazawa Gakuin University. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture on February 1, 1940, he graduated from Kanazawa College of Art and became a third-generation potter at Taizan Kiln. His accolades include several prestigious awards, such as the Prime Minister's Award at the Japan Kōgei Exhibition and the Japan Art Academy Prize. He passed away on July 28, 2021, due to colorectal cancer, and was posthumously awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays.
