Towser was a Scottish cat recognized as the most prolific mouse catcher in history, reportedly catching 28,899 mice during her life of nearly 24 years from April 21, 1963, to March 20, 1987. She lived at the Glenturret Distillery, which is the oldest working whisky distillery in Scotland. Towser was a longhaired tortoiseshell cat, and a bronze memorial was erected in her honor at the distillery, celebrating her extraordinary hunting achievements.
