Trevor David Ford (1925–2017) was an influential English geologist and author, renowned for his 1958 publication on the Precambrian fossil Charnia masoni. His research included paleontology, geomorphology, speleology, mineral studies, and mining history, focusing primarily on the Peak District. He had an academic career at the University of Leicester's Department of Geology, where he became a senior lecturer and associate dean. Ford was also the founding editor of Cave and Karst Science and published numerous books aimed at both academic and general audiences, including guides related to caves and geology.
