Tridev Roy was a Pakistani politician, diplomat, writer, and Buddhist religious leader, notable for serving as the Minister for Minorities in Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's government. He was the 50th Raja of the Chakma tribe in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of present-day Bangladesh from May 2, 1953, until his abdication in 1971 following Bangladesh's independence. Opting to remain a Pakistani citizen after Bangladesh gained independence, he became well-known as a writer and diplomat. He served as Pakistan's ambassador to Argentina from 1981 to 1995 and was also a Minister in the Pakistani government.
