Trond Knaplund (1960-2023) was a Norwegian athletics coach and athlete, known for his versatility in decathlon and especially as a hurdler. He competed primarily in the 110 meters hurdles, earning four bronze medals at national championships and a silver medal in high jump. An alumnus of the University of Idaho, he also served as a coach for Jamaica's bobsled team and was a sports commentator. He was a mentor to many athletes, including sprinter Isabelle Pedersen, and held a significant coaching role in Norway's athletics federation.
